Mr. Eric Falt has served as the Director and UNESCO Representative for the UNESCO New Delhi Office, which covers Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, the Maldives and Sri Lanka. Mr. Falt previously served as Assistant Director-General for External Relations and Public Information at the Paris Headquarters of UNESCO, with the rank of Assistant Secretary-General of the UN. He oversaw the work of the organization in the political field and guided UNESCO’s communications and public information efforts. Prior to this, he served as Director of the Outreach Division at the United Nations Department of Public Information in New York, and as the Director of Communications for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), at its headquarters in Nairobi. Mr Falt was also posted for the United Nations in Pakistan, Iraq, Haiti and Cambodia.
Dr S N Srinivas is currently working as Consultant to UNDP, World Bank and Administrative Staff College of India. He holds PhD (Mechanical Engineering). He has 30 years of work experience in the development sector. His expertise is in Energy for Development: Energy Access, Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Climate Change Mitigation, and Corporate Social Responsibility. He contributed to technology development, innovation, and holds patents.
He served as first CEO of REC Foundation, one of the top 10 CSR Implementing arm of REC Limited, a Central Public Sector Enterprise under Ministry of Power. As Programme Analyst in UNDP-India (New Delhi) on Energy & Climate Change, he implemented UNDP/ GEF funded projects. He worked as Project Engineer at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, running one of the first mini-grids in India. He was UN Focal point & facilitated signing 'UN as Strategic Partner of International Solar Alliance'.
Ian Redmond is a tropical field biologist and conservationist, renowned for his work with great apes and elephants. For more than 35 years he has been associated with Mountain Gorillas, through research, filming, tourism and conservation work. He has served as Ambassador for the UN Year of the Gorilla in 2009 and for the UNEP Convention on Migratory Species since 2010. He was Chief Consultant and Envoy for GRASP - the UNEP/UNESCO Great Apes Survival Partnership www.UN-GRASP.org he helped launch in 2001 – until 2012 and continues as a consultant for UNEP and the FAO on matters pertaining to apes, bushmeat, forests and related issues. He is now the Ambassador for Virtual Ecotourism, and is helping develop this exciting concept for immersive, interactive conservation education – experience it at www.vEcotourism.org
Ian was appointed OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2006 and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Oxford Brookes University in 2011, a Lifetime Achievement Award at the New York Wildlife Conservation Film Festival in 2013 and received the 2013 Animal Action Award for Conservation from the International Fund for Animal Welfare. Putting conservation principles into practice, he has led anti-poacher patrols, guided film crews and/or special interest tours into close encounters with gorillas, chimpanzees, orangutans, elephants and erupting volcanoes, and worked to support local conservationists during the horrors of Rwanda’s and D.R. Congo’s civil wars.
An accredited Green Building Professional, IGBC Green Fellow, Member-National Council CGEM Assocham, Mr Sandeep Narang is a Civil Engineer, qualified by 30 + years of experience in leading project management activities. Presently, he is working on Air Pollution and Water Usage during Construction for Projects.
Mr Narang’s experience encompasses broad range of ventures like residential (high end, farm houses and mega residential), commercial (factory, retail outlet, office towers) and other projects like stadium & roads. He brings along insights in driving project within time frame from pre-design to handover stage which includes design development, construction management, vendor management, material planning, budgeting and costing, site supervision, quality compliance with an emphasis on water and energy conservation during project design and executions.
Dr Mohit Dubey is currently the CEO of Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) at MIT-ADT University, Pune. He was the Pro Vice Chancellor (Pro VC) at IFTM University, Moradabad (UP) before his current position. As Pro VC, Dr Dubey led the automation of the entire university operations, optimisation of IT Infrastructure, enhancing marketing, admissions and examination related processes. He was also the ‘Director of Corporate and International Relations’ where he led all the strategic alliances of the university. An alumnus of Australia India Youth Dialogue (AIYD 2015) – a tier-2 level think tank of young leaders (under 40 years) from India and Australia, Dr Mohit Dubey has an overall global experience of more than 19 years.
Prior to his education domain journey, his IT experience spanned over a decade with India’s second largest IT company Infosys Ltd. He moved up the value chain, starting as a software engineer to client solutions manager in pre-sales function in a very short span. As part of Customer Relationship Management at Infosys, he worked with Bank of America in Atlanta and Los Angeles in both technology and business domains. His main interest areas include Banking and Capital Markets in which he completed the Certification in Capital and Derivatives market from National Stock Exchange, India.
Dr Krishna K. Warhade completed his PhD from IIT Bombay with specialization in communication and signal processing. He has 21 years of teaching experience. His research interest is video processing, wavelets, biomedical signal processing and agriculture. He has contributed papers at various reputed journals and conferences. Currently he is working as a Professor in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. He is also a PhD research centre coordinator for Electronics & Telecommunication research centre, MITCOE and PhD Research centre coordinator for Engineering at MIT-WPU. He worked as a Dean R&D for MIT college of Engineering from June 2015-June 2017.
A professional with rich and diverse experience of working with the United Nations System, civil society, Government and academics in senior supervisory positions for more than three decades.
Superannuated from the UNESCO Office in New Delhi in May 2018 after serving the organization for over 11 years providing intellectual, strategic and operational leadership to its programmes in South Asia. He has contributed to and led many regional and global programmes in association with UNESCO regional offices in Bangkok, Jakarta and headquarters Paris.
He has taken a leadership role in many international bodies e.g. Co-founder and executive committee member of the World Ocean Network, National Organizer, Stockholm Junior Water Prize, active leader of the Global forum on oceans, coasts and Islands, visiting fellow at the School of Natural Resources & Environment, University of Michigan, Environmental Law Institute, Washington DC, World Aquarium, University of Bradford, UK and many other international networks and associations.
He has participated in many high level global events e.g. World Summit on Sustainable Development, Johannesburg (2002), UNFCC COPs in Bali & Copenhagen (2007 & 09), Biodiversity COPs at Nagoya (2010), Hyderabad (2012) and Peyong yong (2014).
Currently he is CEO at Mobius Foundation, a New Delhi based environment and sustainability think tank. Also advising UNEP in developing a trans boundary landscape conservation project.
Samruddhi is an Urban Planner by profession. She has done her Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology University, Ahmedabad (India) after doing her Masters in Geography from Jabalpur University. Her areas of interest are water and sanitation, equity, urban governance and sustainability issues. She has worked upon various projects related to urban water and sanitation, She is a trained amateur Sitar player and in her free time loves working on translating books/ documentations.
