Summary of Main Professional Activities
Presently, at Maua Institute of Technology (IMT), teaching courses on refrigeration and air conditioning, thermal sciences, and energy conversion systems. Development of studies and research and development projects in the field of Energy, GHG emissions, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, and Global Environmental Issues (Ozone Layer Protection and Climate Change).
Consultant to Montreal Protocol implementing agencies (World Bank, UNDP) in the refrigeration and air conditioning areas. Development of industrial conversion projects, Refrigerant Management Plans, National Phase Out Plans, and training courses in Brazil and Latin American and Caribbean Countries.
Researcher at São Paulo Institute for Technological Research –IPT, from 1981 to 1995, involved in the coordination and execution of research and development projects as well as technical and technological services and studies for government agencies and industry in the thermal engineering area.
Technical advisor, from 1995 to 2004, to the Brazilian Industry Association of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning for issues related to Montreal Protocol implementation and new refrigerant fluids.

Lead Author of the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories, participating in the Industrial Processes and Product Use volume chapter 7 Emissions of Fluorinated Substitutes for Ozone Depleting Substances. (2004-2005).

Coordinating Lead Author of the IPCC/TEAP Special Report On Safeguarding the Ozone Layer and the Global Climate System. (2003-2005).
Co-chair of the UNEP (United Nations Environment Program) Refrigeration Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps Technical Options Committee (since 2011).
Member of the HFC and PFC Task Force, a group created by TEAP UNEP to study and prepare a report in 1999 on the implications to the Montreal Protocol of the inclusion of HFCs and PFCs in the Kyoto Protocol.
