SDGs aim for New World order
SCCN as a Tool-Box
"There are few earthly things more beautiful than a university," wrote John Masefield, one of the greatest British poet and writer of the last century, in his tribute to universities. He was not referring to the sprawling lawns, lined trees and rising towers and domes of the University campuses. He was probably making proclaimed exception to the legendary dictate that "beauty and brain" do not reside together. He went on to add that university is the place "where those who perceive truth may strive to make others see."
It can be more relevant than today, when United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be entering their 17th month of implementation. The world has 15 years to achieve those goals, agreed by all its humanity of 196 nations, leading to the global peace free from hatred, injustice and inequality.
Many think that such world aimed by SDGs is utterly impossible. The educational campuses have power, promise and potential to prove that they are wrong. Not because they teach the theories but because they question the premises. Not because they impart the knowledge on how to construct buildings but because they disrupt the traditional systems to show the 'third way'.
Smart Campus Cloud Network (SCCN), is such disruptive network. It does not only engage the young minds to learn by making their own campus Smart by making it Sustainable, but it also connects minds from other universities to strive to learn from each other to enhance the effectiveness of their own implementation. SCCN gives the new meaning to the 17th goal of SDGs on partnerships, which limits itself to the cooperation on finance, trade, monitoring and information.
SCCN goes beyond the set limits of partnership and creates the boundaryless opportunities to today's youth to create new world order of tomorrow.
