A delegation of postgraduate students from ESMT Berlin, Germany's premier business school, visited the Green TERRE Activity Center to explore Indo-German partnerships for advancing Net Zero Universities. Facilitated by the Rotary Clubs of India and Germany, the visit highlighted practical sustainability solutions and global academic collaboration.

The students—Sophia Schütte, Bernarda Lalama, Paulina Moreno Rosales, Robert Schweitzberger, Florian Schleiter, and Max vom Hofe—engaged with Dr. Rajendra Shende, Founder Director of Green TERRE Foundation and former UNEP Director, and his team. "This interaction goes beyond theory; it's about forging actionable partnerships," remarked Dr. Shende. The group explored live demonstrations of rainwater harvesting, biogas plants, solar rooftops, organic farming, and zero-waste systems, gaining insights into India's grassroots sustainability models.

Rajendrakumar Saraf of Pune Rotary Club facilitated the dialogue.

A key focus was the Smart Campus Cloud Network (SCCN), Green TERRE's global initiative transforming campuses into living laboratories for sustainability. Supported by UNESCO, AICTE, and NITI Aayog, SCCN enables real-time carbon monitoring, skill-building for green careers, and global youth collaboration. "SCCN's potential for German universities is immense," noted Robert Schweitzberger, while Bernarda Lalama added, "We'll advocate for ESMT Berlin to join this movement."

The visit concluded with proposals for dual-degree programs, joint research on circular economy, and student innovation challenges. "This marks the start of meaningful Indo-German academic partnerships for climate action," said Dr. Shende.
