It is immensely heartening to witness the stories that lead by example in the critical fight against climate change. SCCN registered members would be ‘learning by doing’ This Simply Smart bulletin showcases the powerful diversity of action across the network:


• Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar, inspires healthier, low-carbon communities through its dynamic campus cycling campaign, championed from the top.

Remember the cycle-rally in Fergusson College of Pune organized by SCCN, titled, ‘ from campus to community’? Students , Faculty and even gardeners participated in that ! No one was left behind!


• University of Mysore boldly advocates for a plastic-free future, embedding sustainable practices campus-wide.

Recall the cartoon exhibition participated by more than 50 countries on environmental protection that Green TERRE Foundation organised


• University of Bonn exemplifies holistic action, integrating solar power, food sharing, and fair trade into its Green Week celebrations.

Pleased to recall that recently six students from The European School on Management and Technologies (ESMT) interacted with Green TERRE Foundation at its Activity Centre to discuss collaboration on Net Zero)


These initiatives – spanning transport, waste, greening, education, and innovation – prove that universities are vital engines for sustainability. Each action, big or small, fuels our collective journey towards a resilient future.
