One of the premier universities in India becomes an SCCN member
SPPU is positioned in the North-western part of Pune city, Maharashtra, India. It occupies an area of about 411 acres. It was established on 10th February, 1949 under the Poona University Act. The university houses 46 academic departments. It is popularly known as the 'Oxford of the East'. It has about 307 recognized research institutes and 612 affiliated colleges offering graduate and under-graduate courses.
SCCN envisions to make one of the largest University in India fully digital and smart with latest technologies like IOT and Big Data Energy Analytics on its Environmental walk.

SCCN will engage the students in making their campus green and sustainable. It deploys smart technologies like cloud networking to measure, monitor, assess and better the energy efficiency, water conservation, waste minimization, air pollution etc and contributes to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). In short it is ' learning by doing' exercise for students to skill them for their digital future and specifically for Smart City projects, a pet project of our Hon'ble PM Modi. As Hon'ble Minister Javdekar stated 'SCCN is a huge laboratory for the Smart Cities'.
