SIIB geared to become Smart

On 4th October 2019, the SCCN team visited Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB), Pune (which is the first campus of SCCN initiative of TERRE Policy Centre) to plan 'Smart Campus Week' for the month of January 2020. The smart campus week concept would be focused on having series of lectures, workshops and interactive sessions on sustainable approach and innovations

SIIB would host the Smart Campus Week in its Hinjewadi Campus inviting all other institutes to present their experience with the Smart Campus Cloud Network and how the campus is progressing with proper analysis by the help of Smart Meters being installed in the campus under SCCN project.

Further to this event SIIB would also be preparing its first ever campus sustainability report as a part of SCCN. The report will highlight the progress of SIIB's contribution to the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). The report would surely enable the campus to evolve with more sustainable practices to be implemented within the campus and improve its efficiency in terms of energy, water, transport and waste.

As a next step towards making the campus Smart, new solar panels are installed by SIIB to make them self-sufficient in terms of its energy requirement. This has brought the campus one more step closer towards becoming smart. Thus, setting an example for other campuses to follow its sustainable practices and evolving out as one of the most active campus under the SCCN (sccnhub.com).
