U2U Interaction Japan-India

Cooling from 5500 deg C to 10 deg C without using fossil fuel. Surprised? Read below….

Mr. Hajime Yabase from Waseda University, a member of SCCN shared the technology details of solar air-conditioning, natural refrigerants, heating and cooling refrigerants, and H2 energy usage to the university students of MITADT also member of SCCN.

Mr. Yabase is an Adjunct Researcher in Waseda University, Research Institute for Science and Engineering, Japan.

In a first ever University-to-University (U2U) interaction of members of SCCN, Mr. Yabase explained how solar energy can be used for refrigeration for the comfort cooling. The surface temperature of sun is 5500 deg C and thus the Earth's temperature (that varies continents to continents with highest being 56.7 deg C in North America and Asia 54 deg C) creates heat. This heat can be used to drive refrigeration cycle to cool the spaces.

Total 80 participants from MITADT, including the students, research scholars and faculty of B.Tech & M.Tech took active participation in the interaction. Prof. Dr. Kishore Ravande, Dean Research & Consultancy Cell and Principal MIT School of Engineering felicitated Mr. Yabase. The interaction was organized by the SCCN facilitators from TERRE Policy Centre, Dinah Gengmei (Project Leader) and Sourav Dutta (Project Coordinator) with proactive role of Mr. Lalit Kumar, Assistant Professor- Electronics and Communication Engineering Department MITADT. He is also appointed as the MITADT Campus Coordinator for SCCN.
