Universities in South India have now decided to take initiative for India's new education policy and environment protection. All these universities will participate in the Net Zero campaign. Through this, a big movement of environment conservation will be started in various colleges. In this regard, a brainstorming session of experts will be held in Chennai on Monday, October 25. This will be a milestone in education and environment in the country.
The Green TERRE Foundation, in collaboration with SRM Institute of Science & Technology, is delighted to announce the much-anticipated U75 Net-Zero University Campus Regional Workshop - South, scheduled for September 25th, 2023, at 11 am IST. This ground-breaking event promises to inspire and equip higher education institutions with the knowledge and tools needed to create carbon-neutral campuses.

It will begin with a warm welcome from Prof. C. About:
Smart Campus Cloud Network (SCCN)
SCCN is Global Network of the Universities and Higher Educational Institutes (HEIs) that localises Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The network encourages the youth in the universities to undertake projects in their own campus that relate to SDGs and Climate Change. The overall objective of the project is to skill the students and faculty in mainstreaming SDGs in the education system through practical work in the campus. SCCN’s recent project is ‘Not-Zero Net-Zero’, for which 250+ universities (and the number is growing) have pledged and are initiating the work on carbon neutrality (SDG 7 and 13). The key pressing point of SCCN is to emphasise hands-on and practical work than the class-room talks.
