Brain is getting decoded

Get Future-Ready

Intelligence is all about the symphony of music and dance of the neurons in brain cells. Neurons are the Nerve Cells specialised to carry "messages" through an electrochemical process.

That sounds like reducing the most smart process that ever existed in the humans (or to that matter in any living being) to some trivial mechanism. But that exactly is the way it is and that precisely is the way robotics and machine-learning is being transformed into what is called as artificial intelligence.

The human brain has approximately 100 billion neurons and the human body is made up of trillions of neuron cells that are spread across brain, spinal cord and the nervous system. The interacting network of these trillions of neurons carry the messages, signals to be precise, through an apparently 'bizarre' communication pathways called synapses, yet to be fully understood by present human brain.

The smart technology that began small in 1990s but now moved into huge capabilities after 2012 called Big Data analytics, is coming to our help in deciphering this bewildering, complex and surreal network involving trillions of signals. Big data now includes data sets which competes beyond the ability of routinely used software tools to seize, curate, manage and process data within a reasonable elapsed time. That is what is exactly needed to decode the brain.

Recently, Big Data is characterised by three Vs - Variety, Velocity and Volume. With every passing years, each of the Vs are expanding into its fourth V-Verticals. Get ready for this mesmerising and mysterious future. Smart Campus Cloud Network (SCCN) helps you to enter into this dark maze without getting lost. SCCN makes you future ready.

You may wonder, what Big Data has to do with Educational campus? No one has exact figure of total number of educational campuses in the world. There are more than 25000 universities, each university may have couple of them or up to 200 colleges and each college may have couple of campuses and up to thousands of students and professors. SCCN (see: sccnhub.com) is the global network of campuses attempting to achieve or contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). It uses Internet of Things for online measurement and monitoring and Cloud Networking to share the results. The objective is to create the 'neuronotic' messages between the campuses, students and faculty to enhance the impact of actions towards SDGs.

Group study is one of the recognised practices by the students for solving the problems, be it mathematical or even social. Now imagine that each campus and each student have to get connected to each other to address the challenges of the 17 SDGs. Each of the goal represents a challenge but myriads of problems. There are total of 169 targets and 234 indicators to be monitored by group 196 countries. SCCN is the group study exercise through networking.

It is clear that the way to assess and monitor the progress on SDGs by the educational campuses is to use Big Data analytics, but Big Data is not only related to SDGs. It is already being used in complex research programmes in the universities. Research has several subdomains (e.g., desk-research, setting and designing experiments, obtaining the results and data points, interpreting trends, predicting and designing further experiments etc) that all use different types of data. Since the analytical solutions can get interpreted and influenced by individual researchers, Big Data would be of extreme use in these subdomains to get a big neutral picture and work effectively in future.

To be future ready, SCCN is the Small Start for Big data and Big Future.
