Transforming Campus through Internship Programmes

Smart Campus is an intranet of the education campuses of schools, colleges, institutes, and universities committed to make a tangible contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Unique value addition of the network is the deployment of the digital mechanisms like, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Networking, and Big Data Analytics.

The campus should encourage students and faculties to 'learn by doing' the voluntary work to enhance the energy efficiency, optimize water conservation, waste management, air pollution and sustainable transport. The campus should conduct disciplinary and multidisciplinary research, to build educational programs leading to innovation for Sustainable Development.

The Industry always looks for innovative solutions to the critical problems and novel approach in handling the projects. The Smart Campus is recent addition for which an innovative solution should be designed. There are ample of opportunities for the students in this area and they can complete a project and find out the solution for various issues.

The students irrespective of their home branch of engineering can complete six weeks of internship in the campus itself by developing new ideas, which can convert the existing campus in the smart campus. This concept will bring together students and faculties to shape the minds and muscles of tomorrow's leaders, business managers, entrepreneurs, academicians, researchers and civil society stewards to act locally and collaboratively. The students are efficient to develop a smart campus with the help of faculty members, which will also support the ecosystem as well.

The students can complete the following tasks in the form of mini projects, which will really develop the solutions in creating smart campus:

  • Reduction in Energy Consumption
  • Water Conservation and Recycling Approach
  • Proper Disposing Methods
  • Sustainable Transportation to reduce congestion
  • Effective use of Technology
  • Creating of useful applications used in the mobile phones and websites intelligent parking system using Wi-Fi, CCTVs, Sensor Networks
  • Implementing Biogas plant from food waste
  • Environment-Friendly Behavior: Green Initiatives
  • Social initiatives beyond campus and many more
