An Experiment transformed into a Movement

First and Only University in the world - Exclusively for the tribal students

SCCN team was honored to visit the Kalinga Institurte of Social Sciences (KISS) campus in Bhubaneswar and witness the UNBELIEVABLE sight of 25000 students. KISS has not just being providing education - primary to higher education to the underpriviledged tribal students right from the age of five for absolute free of cost, but it is marvelously serving all these kids with sustainable yet luxurious upliftment in the campus.

KISS is the best model to fulfil all the objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) in true sense and spirit. It is indeed, the biggest anthropological laboratory of the world.

The campus has been efficiently carrying out its Green Initiatives:

1. Steam based mechanized kitchen

2. Rooftop solar power station (575 KWp)

3. Solar water heating system (10 KLD)

4. Bio-gas plant (1000 Kg/day organic waste)

5. Bio-STP (Sewage Treatment Plant 700 KLD)

6. Rooftop rain water harvesting (14 MLY)

7. Vermicomposting from food waste

8. Plantation drive

9. Energy conservation

10. Wi-Fi campus

11. Campus under CCTV surveillance
