TCET is a private self-financed Linguistic (Hindi) minority institute since its inception. TCET is recognized by AICTE and Govt. of Maharashtra. TCET is an autonomous institute affiliated to the University of Mumbai (UoM) and included under section 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC Act, 1956 by UGC. TCET offers 12 UG, 3 PG and 3 Ph.D. (Tech.) programme.
