Jigme Namgyel Engineering College (JNEC) is one of the constituent colleges of the Royal University of Bhutan (RUB). It was established in 1972 and is 18 kilometers away from Samdrup Jongkhar town in Eastern Bhutan, second gateway to Bhutan from Assam in India. The college offers three bachelor’s program and nine diploma programs under five academic department (Civil Engineering & Surveying, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Information Technology, Humanities and Management). Each department has state-of-the-art laboratory facilities so as to enable quality academic activities and research works. As a premier college, several works are also being carried out to support community development. The college has been accredited by the Bhutan Accreditation Council and has been awarded Grade – A.
