In the grand WSIS forum 2018, TERRE was privileged to speak on 'Youth Access to Knowledge and SDGs strategy' and introduce its youth-oriented project called Smart Campus Cloud Network (SCCN).
SCCN was highlighted during the joint-session with UNESCO explaining the power of connecting educational campuses through cloud platform powered by Big Data, IOT and AI to enhance access to scientific knowledge for students. The key aim of the initiative is to make campuses and its students SDG-ready and enhance their employability.
The session noted that grounbreaking initiatives such as Smart Campus Cloud Network need to be further strengthened and reinforced to reap the benefit of new and smart technologies to make young mean and women SDG ready. Read more
Rajendra Shende, Chairman of TERRE Policy Centre and former Director of UNEP met Mr. Malcolm Johnson, Deputy Secretary General (DSG) of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) - United Nations.
DSG appreciated and expressed his heartfelt support for TERRE's project, Smart Campus Cloud Network (SCCN). ITU and TERRE would soon announce the possible areas of collaboration for SCCN and work closely with universities across the globe.
"ITU would be working more and closer with the Universities and promote IoT, AI, and Cloud Networking through SCCN', said Mr. Johnson while launching a special brochure of SCCN.
Mr. Bhanu Neupane, Programe Specialist at UNESCO who is already associated with SCCN, stated that this is exteremely welcome suggestion of DG-ITU.
